Great
Bentley Youth F.C. are proud to have been chosen by Clacton Lions as
one of the many clubs and organisations they support.
The Lions Club of
Clacton on Sea was established in 1979 and celebrated its 20th
birthday in 1999. The club is part of the International
Association of Lions Clubs and has a distinguished record of service
to its local community. We currently have 26 members with a
wide variety of ages and occupations including those who are
retired.
The Club now covers
an area which also includes Brightlingsea, Frinton on Sea, Great
Bentley, Holland on Sea, St. Osyth, Point Clear, Thorpe le Soken,
Thorrington, Walton on Naze, and Weeley.
We hold a wide
variety of fund-raising activities during the course of each year
including quizzes - especially the now infamous Nostalgia Quiz, an
Art Exhibition, a Trolley Dash, numerous Jumble Sales and Christmas
time is very busy helping Father Christmas.
We have also raised over £38,000 in the past seventeen years
preparing and distributing the Clacton Carnival programme each year
which is a free 16/20 page newspaper distributed to over 30,000
homes in the local area.
Our club is open to
members of both sexes over the age of 21 and if you would like to
join us or would like our help then please e-mail: ClactonLions@clactonnet.co.uk
or telephone our on 01255 220225.
